This full-time contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a lasting impact working with 6th to 8th graders in a Functional (RISE) program, utilizing an alternative curriculum tailored to the unique strengths and needs of each student. Youll work with a small caseload of 8 students, providing individualized instruction and fostering a nurturing, positive learning environment. This position begins immediately and runs through June 9, 2027, providing stability and a meaningful professional journey in a school that values your expertise.

Qualifications & Experience:

Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) required Experience in self-contained or alternative curriculum classrooms preferred Understanding of or willingness to learn about functional/life skills curriculum (RISE) Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and paraprofessionals Strong skills in creating and implementing IEPs Compassionate communicator who thrives in an inclusive, student-focused setting

Key Responsibilities:

Teach and adapt lessons for a small group of middle school students using the alternative curriculum Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, tracking student progress Work closely with classroom assistants and related service providers to support each students growth Communicate regularly with families and colleagues to foster student success Provide a structured, caring environment where students feel empowered to achieve Experience the rewards of helping students build confidence, life skills, and academic abilities in a close-knit classroom.
