9679515-60014 Job Description Make an impact as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a supportive educational setting near Crystal Lake, IL. This full-time, contract position for the 2026/2027 school year offers the opportunity to empower students with visual impairments, fostering their independence, academic achievement, and life skills.
Skills & Desired Experience:
Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Experience designing and adapting curriculum for students with visual impairments Strong understanding of assistive technology and specialized instructional strategies Knowledge of IEP development and implementation Effective communicator with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Passion for advocating for students and ensuring equitable access to learning
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs, both in mainstream and self-contained classrooms Develop and adapt materials using Braille, large print, and assistive technology Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success Assess student abilities, monitor progress, and participate in IEP meetings Provide guidance on accessibility and classroom modifications to staff and students Promote independence and social-emotional growth in students with visual impairments This is a wonderful opportunity to make meaningful connections and facilitate educational growth for students who face unique learning challenges.
