You'll play a pivotal role in helping students overcome challenges, reach their academic goals, and build self-confidence.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities as appropriate Previous experience working with school-aged children with hearing loss preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills Ability to create differentiated instructional strategies to meet students unique needs Flexibility to adapt to various learning styles and classroom settings
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Adapt curriculum materials to enhance accessibility and comprehension Collaborate closely with general educators, administrators, and related service providers Advocate for students needs and facilitate IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings Collect and analyze student progress data to refine instructional practices Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth Provide resources, training, and guidance to staff and families to support inclusion This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in students educational journeys while expanding your professional experience in a supportive school community.
