Qualifications & Experience:
Active Special Education teaching certification Experience in self-contained learning environments preferred Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Strong classroom management and communication abilities Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with diverse needs Ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education teachers Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a self-contained K-2 classroom serving 8-10 students with mild intervention needs or a middle school class with 8 students requiring intense interventions Differentiate instruction to meet the unique academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of each student Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Work closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure best outcomes for students Utilize data-driven strategies to monitor student progress and inform instructional adjustments Establish a positive classroom culture focused on growth, respect, and achievement Maintain detailed records in compliance with state and federal guidelines This is an opportunity to make a profound difference in the lives of students and their families while expanding your expertise in special education.
