Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teacher to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes early childhood development, literacy, social-emotional skills, and inclusive learning.
Scope:
The Teacher is responsible for the care and education of a group of children as a part of a teaching team. The teacher plans and implements the curriculum in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards and Developmentally Appropriate Practices as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This position requires active participation with other members of the teaching team, various Head Start staff, and parents to assess and address the needs of individual children. The Teacher works under the direct supervision of the Education Manager/ Site Supervisor assigned to the site. The Teacher is expected to present a positive and professional image of Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties Head Start Consortium, and actively and effectively participate on committees and work teams as requested.
Academic:
Bachelor's Degree or related field Duties Develop and implement comprehensive, age-appropriate curricula that align with educational standards and individual student needs Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children of various abilities Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques Collaborate with families, therapists, and specialists to create and update Skills Strong classroom management skills combined with expertise in behavior management and child welfare practices Extensive experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or in early intervention settings Apply at www.headstartesj.com
