Key Qualifications:

State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related endorsement required Proven experience working with children or adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in a school setting Strong knowledge of best practices in auditory/oral, total communication, and/or American Sign Language (ASL) Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication, consultation, and organizational skills Flexibility to work with K12 students and adapt approaches accordingly Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and positive school culture

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school sites Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, related service providers, and families to support student access and engagement Conduct assessments and contribute to eligibility meetings and IEP development Provide training and resources for staff to facilitate communication access and understanding of hearing differences Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to maximize learning outcomes Advocate for accessibility accommodations and assistive technology as needed Build positive relationships with students and families to encourage continued growth and involvement This is your chance to make a lasting impact district wide, empowering students to access their education fully.
