Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Special Education Teacher to serve in a self-contained classroom focused on supporting students with mild disabilities. This contract position is full-time, offering 35 hours per week for the duration of the assignment, beginning as soon as possible and concluding on December 18, 2026. The assignment is based onsite at a middle school near Fishers, IN, creating a dynamic environment where your expertise and compassion can make a meaningful difference in students academic and personal growth.
Desired Qualifications:
Current, active Indiana Special Education teaching license (please have proof available) Prior experience working with students with mild disabilities, ideally in a middle school setting Comprehensive knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) development and implementation Ability to cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom culture in a self-contained environment Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and school teams
Key Responsibilities:
Lead instruction and provide targeted support to a classroom of students with mild disabilities Design and execute effective lesson plans tailored to individualized learning needs and goals Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies and supports as needed Maintain accurate documentation for IEPs and student records in compliance with state and district regulations Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and growth Work closely with colleagues and families to foster student success
