Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Soliant is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to support an elementary Life Skills classroom in Indiana for the 2026-2027 school year . This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated special education professional who is passionate about providing individualized instruction and creating a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes both academic and functional development.

Student Population:
Elementary students receiving specialized academic, functional, and life skills support Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction in an elementary Life Skills classroom. Develop and implement individualized instruction based on students' academic, functional, developmental, and behavioral needs. Support students in meeting their IEP goals and making meaningful progress. Provide appropriate accommodations, modifications, and differentiated instruction. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation related to IEP goals and services. Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, special education staff, administrators, related service providers, and families. Maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment. Provide functional and life skills instruction as appropriate to individual student needs. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning and educational programming. Required Qualifications Valid Indiana PEL (Professional Educator License) with Special Education endorsements required. At least 6 months of relevant experience required. Experience working with students in a Life Skills or self-contained special education setting preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Ability to provide individualized academic and functional instruction. Ability to work throughout the assignment period from October 26, 2026 - May 27, 2027 . Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a Life Skills or self-contained special education classroom . Experience supporting elementary-aged students with significant academic, functional, or behavioral needs. Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring IEP goals. Familiarity with accommodations, modifications, differentiated instruction, and functional skill development. Experience collaborating with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary school teams.
