Key Qualifications & Experience:
Indiana Teaching License current and in good standing. Specific certification in Mild Intervention (for SPED Resource) or Intense Intervention (for SPED Essential). Previous experience in a school-based special education setting strongly preferred. Strong commitment to individualized instruction, progress monitoring, and positive behavior supports. Effective communication and collaboration with students, colleagues, and families. Organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and IEP processes efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
Plan and implement specialized instructional programs for a caseload of 2530 (Resource) or 10 (Essential) students, based on individualized education plans. Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and abilities. Manage and update IEP documentation and required progress reports in a timely manner. Collaborate closely with general education staff, support professionals, and families to ensure student success. Maintain a safe, positive classroom environment that fosters inclusion and respect. Participate in professional development, team meetings, and ongoing training relevant to special education best practices. This full-time contract role spans 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with standard work hours from 8:20 AM to 3:10 PM (variations based on classroom needs may apply).
