Job Description

Seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher with expertise in mild interventions for a contract position in northwest Indiana. This opportunity focuses on supporting 5th and 6th-grade students in a dedicated building, providing both push-in and pull-out instruction. The role involves fulfilling Teacher of Record responsibilities, which include writing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and conducting progress monitoring to ensure student success. You'll collaborate with teachers and support staff to create inclusive learning environments and help students achieve their academic goals.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Experience in a school setting, particularly with mild interventions. Familiarity with push-in and pull-out service delivery models. Demonstrated ability to serve as Teacher of Record, including drafting IEPs and maintaining compliance documentation. Strong skills in progress monitoring and adjusting instruction based on student data. Effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues and families. Ability to support 5th and 6th-grade learners in a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction through both classroom inclusion (push-in) and small group/individual (pull-out) formats. Serve as Teacher of Record, ensuring all legal and educational requirements are met. Develop, update, and implement IEPs tailored to student needs.
