9650788-46544 Job Description Make an impact by using your expertise to support students as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist for a full-time, district-wide opportunity. This contract role serves K-12th grade students and offers a dynamic environment where your skills and compassion will help create lasting positive change.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid state certification as a Teacher for the Deaf / Hard of Hearing, or specialist equivalent Experience supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss, preferably in K-12 settings Strong knowledge of assistive technology, communication strategies, and IEP development Ability to collaborate with general and special education staff, families, and external service providers Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills Passion for advocacy, accessibility, and tailoring instruction to individual student needs
Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide direct and consultative services to K-12 students with hearing loss across the district Assess students abilities and needs, participate in eligibility processes, and recommend instructional adaptations Develop and deliver individualized instruction, interventions, and access supports within multiple school sites Advocate for accessible learning environments and collaborate on IEP development and implementation Support staff professional development in best practices for deaf / hard of hearing inclusion Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, families, and community partners If youre motivated to foster communicative access and educational achievement for all learners, this district-wide position offers the chance to leverage your unique skill set in a rewarding environment.
