Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students in self-contained special education classrooms, located near Mitchell, IN. We are searching for passionate Special Education Teachers to provide meaningful instruction and individualized support for elementary and middle school students. In these roles, you'll play a vital part in shaping educational journeys—whether you're guiding a K-2 class focused on mild intervention (8-10 students) or supporting middle schoolers who require intense interventions in a smaller group setting (8 students). Your experience in adapting instruction and collaborating with support staff will be key to student success. Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching license/certification (state-appropriate) Experience working with self-contained special education classes, preferably at the elementary or middle school level Strong background in intervention strategies: either mild or intense needs Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Demonstrated flexibility, patience, and creativity in adapting curriculum and materials Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
