Responsibilities:
Lead a self-contained classroom, providing instruction and customized support to students with mild disabilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs and goals Adapt curriculum and employ differentiated instructional strategies to ensure effective learning Track and evaluate student progress, maintaining thorough documentation and regularly communicating with families and support staff Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and administration to promote a positive, inclusive learning environment Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services
Qualifications:
Hold an active Indiana Special Education teaching license (screenshot required at application) Previous experience teaching students with mild disabilities strongly preferred Ability to effectively manage and engage a middle school self-contained classroom Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for partnership with colleagues and guardians Strong organizational abilities to manage documentation and meet deadlines Passion for supporting student growth and advocating for diverse learners This onsite role offers stability with a set 35-hour workweek through December 18, 2026.
