Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real impact in the lives of students by taking on a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school community near Springville, IN. We're seeking passionate professionals for two self-contained classrooms: one elementary-level class providing mild interventions for grades K-2 (8-10 students), and one middle school group focusing on intense interventions (8 students). This is a contract opportunity offering a chance to collaborate with dedicated teams and shape a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Special Education Teaching certification and appropriate state licensure Previous experience working with mild and/or intense intervention student populations Strong classroom management and organizational abilities Creativity in adapting curriculum to individual student needs Effective communication skills with students, families, and staff Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for helping every child succeed

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs Deliver engaging lessons that encourage academic and social growth Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education teachers to coordinate student supports Foster meaningful relationships with families to ensure consistency in student progress Record, assess, and report on student achievements and areas for growth Benefits of this
