Category Schools - Educational Diagnostician Job Type Contract Advance your career as an Educational Diagnostician supporting students across Porter County for the 26/27 school year. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, collaborating county-wide with school teams to identify and address individual student needs. You'll have a home base at the SELF school, but will travel to sites throughout the area, enhancing your professional breadth and experience. Enjoy a consistent 7-hour workday, typically scheduled between 7:45 am and 3:15 pm, providing excellent work-life balance. The caseload will shift throughout the year to address student needs, offering variety and the chance to refine your expertise in diverse educational environments.
Desired background:
Valid certification/licensure as an Educational Diagnostician (or eligibility in Indiana) Previous experience in a school or educational setting strongly preferred In-depth knowledge of special education processes, evaluation procedures, and federal/state regulations Strong assessment, analytical, and written/oral communication skills Ability to manage flexible caseloads and adapt to new situations efficiently Team-oriented approach and capacity to build rapport with students, educators, and families Key responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to interpret data and develop appropriate educational plans Participate in IEP meetings and provide guidance on assessment results and recommendations Document evaluation processes in compliance with state and federal mandates Provide follow-up consultations and resource support to staff and families Seize the chance to work throughout Porter County as a valued resource for students and educators.
