The English Language (EL) Teacher provides English language development (ELD) instruction to multilingual learners in kindergarten-12th grade based on appropriate licensing. The ideal candidate has experience using and implementing the SIOP model, exhibits superior organizational and communication skills (verbal and writing); is compassionate; is willing to collaborate; and is knowledgeable about recent research in pedagogy in the field of language acquisition and EL education. Additionally, the candidate should possess sensitivity to the developmental stages and well being of children and have a willingness to be flexible in terms of teaching assignment within the school setting.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide support using best instructional practices- i.e., SIOP
- through classroom instruction, collaborative teaching, coaching, etc.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
Certified EL/ENL licensed teacher. Committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population that includes students with differentiated learning modalities. Experience working with best instructional practice- i.e., SIOP Model, Enduring Principles of Learning, etc. Experience working collaboratively with others.
