Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving students in a supportive and collaborative environment. This contract role offers immediate placement through the end of May 2027, providing stability and the chance to make a genuine impact in the lives of young learners. Three full-time roles are available, each based at a single campus to ensure consistency and build strong connections with students and staff.
Openings include:
Middle school position supporting students with emotional disabilities Middle school position for those with functional and life skills needs Elementary position focusing on students with emotional disabilities
Qualifications:
Valid Kansas Special Education Teacher Certification (KS SPED Cert) required Previous teaching experience with special needs populations, ideally in similar settings Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills Enthusiasm for fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment Dedication to individualized instruction and supporting diverse learning styles
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs for assigned caseload Foster academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth Collaborate closely with related service providers and support staff Maintain records, documentation, and parent communications Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed Adapt teaching strategies to meet varied student needs and goals This is an onsite position with regular weekday hours (37.5 hours/week) through the current school year and beyond.
