Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher supporting early childhood and elementary-aged students in an intensive skills classroom. This full-time contract position is based onsite and offers the chance to work closely with students on the autism spectrum, promoting growth and independence in both academic and life skills.

Qualifications:

Valid Kansas Special Education Teacher license (required) Experience or interest in early childhood and elementary special education settings Familiarity with intensive skills classrooms and instructional strategies for students with autism Ability to create a supportive, compassionate, and structured classroom environment Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families Commitment to individualized instruction and data-driven interventions

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique strengths and needs Provide differentiated instruction and behavioral support in a classroom setting Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed Collaborate with school teams, therapists, and families to ensure holistic development Document and report student achievements and areas for growth Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
