9541783-66283 Job Description Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, working with elementary students in a supportive environment near Overland Park, KS. Multiple positions are available for educators passionate about making a positive impact for young learners in a LIFT (Learning, Independence, and Functional Training) classroom. This assignment runs from the beginning to the end of the school year, offering valuable teaching experience and the chance to build strong connections with students across grades K, 1, 2, 3, and 5.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching credential Experience teaching or supporting elementary school students, particularly in special education settings Strong understanding of IEP implementation and documentation Ability to collaborate with general educators, paraprofessionals, and support staff Exceptional communication, flexibility, and problem-solving skills Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of 8 students with diverse learning needs Deliver instruction using individualized and small group teaching methods aligned with IEP goals Develop and adapt lesson plans to support students academic, social, and behavioral growth Track progress, maintain student records, and contribute to meetings with families and school teams Engage regularly with parents and guardians to share progress and set educational goals Provide daily support from 8:15 am to 4:00 pm throughout the academic year, ensuring each child reaches their full potential This role offers the satisfaction of helping elementary learners thrive and the opportunity to work in a collaborative and resource-rich school setting.
