9670322-41001 Job Description Make an impact on students lives by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. In this contract role, you'll work closely with students who are visually impaired, empowering them to access their education and thrive both academically and personally. Your expertise will help create inclusive environments and foster skill development that prepares students for lifelong success.
What were looking for:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification Proven experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adapted instructional materials Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff Ability to assess individual needs and tailor instruction accordingly Organizational skills for effective case management and documentation Your responsibilities will include: Designing and implementing individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments Teaching Braille literacy, orientation and mobility skills, and use of adaptive tools Consulting with classroom teachers to adapt materials and strategies for inclusive participation Supporting families with resources, progress updates, and advocacy Maintaining accurate records and participating in IEP meetings Staying current on best practices and technology advancements in the field This contract opportunity offers the flexibility to focus on your passion for supporting students with special needs.
