Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting their growth and independence in an educational setting. This contract opportunity as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired offers a chance to empower students near Williamstown, KY, by providing specialized instruction and advocacy. With a well-defined schedule of 25 hours per week, youll enjoy a healthy work-life balance while making a difference during the academic year, from August 17th, 2026 through May 26th, 2027.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
Valid Kentucky Special Education Teacher certification with a Visual Impairment (VI) endorsement Experience providing instruction and support for students who are blind or have low vision, ideally in a school-based setting Expertise in adapting curriculum, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials Strong communication skills to collaborate closely with educators, paraprofessionals, families, and related service providers Ability to travel between school sites if required
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments, in accordance with federal and state mandates Assess students' needs and adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate their unique learning styles and goals Teach core academic content, daily living skills, orientation and mobility concepts, as appropriate Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to make the environment and curriculum as accessible and inclusive as possible Provide ongoing evaluation and support to ensure students make progress toward achieving their IEP goals
