A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

About the Role We are seeking an experienced, nurturing, and highly reliable nanny and homeschool educator to care for three children, ages 9, 7, and 2. This is a full-time position central to the daily rhythm of our household. The right candidate is equally comfortable guiding a toddler through play and mealtimes and leading elementary-age children through a structured homeschool day which is inclusive of 3-Day week co-op outside the home followed by curriculum at home. A core responsibility of this role is education: leading homeschool instruction for the two school-age children (ages 10 and 7) at home, or transporting and supervising them at their homeschool cohort, depending on the day's schedule. We are looking for someone who values learning, brings patience and creativity to teaching, and can keep the day organized and engaging for children at very different developmental stages. ResponsibilitiesChildcare (all three children) Provide attentive, engaged, and loving care throughout the day Prepare nutritious meals and snacks; manage feeding and mealtime routines for the toddler Maintain daily routines including naps, quiet time, and age-appropriate activities Oversee safety at all times, both at home and during outings Manage the toddler's care needs (diapering/potty training, dressing, developmental play) Coordinate age-appropriate activities, crafts, outdoor play, and enrichment Homeschool & Education (ages 10 and 7) Lead daily homeschool instruction using the family's chosen curriculum, or Transport the school-age children to and from their homeschool cohort and supervise participation Develop and follow lesson plans; support reading, homework, and hands-on learning activities Track academic progress and communicate with parents on strengths and areas needing attention Foster curiosity, independent thinking, and good study habits Balance instructional time for the older children with care for the toddler during the school day Household & Coordination Keep children's areas, play spaces, and learning areas tidy and organized Handle children's laundry and light meal cleanup Manage children's schedules, appointments, and activity logistics Run child-related errands as needed Communicate clearly and consistently with parents on daily updates and any concerns Qualifications Required Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship provided) Proven experience caring for multiple children across different age groups, including toddlers Experience with or strong aptitude for homeschooling, tutoring, or early education Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before start date) Ability to pass a comprehensive background check Strong organizational and time-management skills Patient, warm, dependable, and able to adapt to a busy household Preferred Background or coursework in education, child development, or early childhood Familiarity with common homeschool curricula and cohort/co-op models Experience with potty training and toddler developmental milestones Comfortable managing simultaneous needs of school-age and toddler children Non-smoker; comfortable with household pets [if applicable] Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred but not required What We Offer A supportive, respectful family environment Competitive compensation A meaningful role shaping the daily learning and growth of three wonderful children
