A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Job Summary Path Forward of Kentucky is looking for a Behavior Support Specialist in the Louisville Metro area to work directly with participants being served through Supports for Community Living and Michelle P waivers. Positive Behavior Support Services are performed under the guidelines of these waivers.

  • Behavior Support Specialists work one-on-one with the Participant, as well as collaborate their team, to help developmentally and intellectually disabled individuals achieve more independent lives Pay is $80 per hour after successfully completing training PFK Agency Orientation and Training (in person training paid $12.
00 hourly) and free online courses are included Part-time hours and flexible scheduling available Qualifications and Skills BCBA preferred or must have a Master's Degree with formal graduate course work in a Behavioral Science and at least 1 year experience in behavioral programming Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current car insurance required Path Forward of Kentucky provides supported employment, job coaching, respite, Family Home Providers, and community living supports for children and/or adults with disabilities.
