A child's day is filled with a structured classroom schedule at a 3:1 child-to-caregiver ratio. The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher position plays an instrumental role in running the special education program and classrooms. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, passionate and innovative, and ready to help take Marty's Orchid House to the next level of quality care! Job Description The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher shall oversee the nurturing and education of enrolled children, fostering their social and emotional development and cultivating a creative and supportive learning environment where the learning process can thrive. The ECSE Teacher shall oversee individual goal setting and planning while maintaining educational records. The teacher will also be responsible for the creation of adapted curriculum for each individual child's needs, participation in multidisciplinary team meetings for a child, provide education and training to a child's parent or guardian on a variety of educational topics, and maintain therapeutic communication with a child's parent/guardian and multidisciplinary team to achieve common goals.
Role and Responsibilities:
Teaches special education per Kentucky state regulations Plans and implements lesson plans for all students Design individualized education plans based on student needs Collaborate with parents and staff to track student progress and modify educational plans as needed Maintains a clean, safe, and inviting environment that fosters conductive learning Assesses student learning and achievement while maintaining appropriate documentation Prepare students for preschool and beyond Collaborate with support staff such as therapists and techs Performs related duties as outlined by Executive Director and Director of Nursing Make referrals when appropriate including community based, social, education, and financial services Oversee Technicians (similar to teacher assistants) during teaching time and other specified times Use planning time effectively and efficiently to plans for weeks ahead including lessons, goal setting, and supply ordering Participate in staff meetings to inform all staff of students' progress and oversee any staff training as it relates to educational content as needed

Requirements:
