This position plays an important role in maintaining appropriate staff-to-child ratios, assisting with transitions, providing breaks for teachers, and ensuring children receive high-quality care in a safe, nurturing environment. The Floater will work with children of various ages and should be comfortable adapting to different classrooms, routines, and developmental needs while supporting lead teachers and maintaining continuity of care.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 12:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide supervision and care for children in accordance with state licensing regulations and center policies. Support multiple classrooms throughout the day based on staffing and program needs. Assist lead teachers with classroom activities, transitions, outdoor play, meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, and nap routines. Help maintain safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environments. Build positive, nurturing relationships with children while encouraging their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Engage children in age-appropriate activities including reading, art, music, sensory play, gross motor activities, and free play. Assist with classroom setup, cleaning, sanitizing toys and materials, and other daily classroom responsibilities. Complete required documentation, including care reports in Brightwheel, when assigned. Communicate professionally and respectfully with children, families, and coworkers. Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures. Perform other duties as assigned to support the daily operation of the childcare program. Ability to pass all required criminal background checks and TB screening. Must meet all applicable state licensing requirements for childcare staff.
