9683062-40050 Job Description Support the success of students with visual impairments by using your expertise to make a positive difference in their educational journey. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated specialist skilled in providing vision services within a school environment. Located in a welcoming community near New Castle, KY, youll be instrumental in delivering tailored instruction and support while enjoying the flexibility and focus of a manageable caseload. In this role, you will: Provide specialized instruction to two students with differing service needs. Deliver weekly vision services (15 minutes per week) to one student, including additional compensatory minutes to address prior missed sessions. Offer targeted support to a second student, consisting of short check-ins (3 minutes, twice annually). Collaborate with educational staff, families, and professionals to ensure accessibility and progress for students. Document sessions, progress, and maintain records in compliance with program and state guidelines. Utilize modern, effective strategies including remote (Voco) and in-person methods for maximum impact. Share insights and recommendations to foster inclusivity in the school community.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired or eligibility to obtain relevant certification. Previous experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting is highly valued. Strong communication and organizational skills. Adaptability and a student-centered approach to service delivery. Comfort working with various instructional technologies (Voco experience a plus).
