Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic and unique educational team. Bright Hope Learning Center is an early intervention, tuition-free, Christian school for children with special needs. In this vital role, you will design and implement individualized instruction plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with disabilities. Your enthusiasm and expertise will foster an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference and eternal impact in the lives of children with a wide range of developmental and learning needs, including those with autism, hearing impairments, visual impairments, and other disabilities. You will collaborate closely with families, support staff, and educational professionals to ensure compliance with special education laws and KY regulations and deliver exceptional educational experiences. Duties Develop and implement Student Action Plans (similar to an IEP) tailored to each student's unique needs, goals, and abilities in a timely manner Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects such as literacy education, math, early childhood education, and social skills development using innovative instructional strategies and educational technology integration Use our bible-based curriculum, plus adapt other curriculum materials and instructional methods to accommodate students with disabilities Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies to create a safe and supportive learning environment Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapist, and parent/guardian stakeholders to support student progress Utilize in-house assessment tools such as our extensive Student Growth Indicator and progress monitoring to evaluate student development and adjust instruction accordingly Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, SAP goals, behavioral data, and compliance records in accordance with educational regulations Take the required 15 hours of CEU via the state COLT/Tris system within a timely manner Skills Proven experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hearing impairments (including deaf education), visual impairments (including visually impaired education), and other disabilities Strong communication skills for effective parent communication, team collaboration, and student engagement Expertise in behavior management for students with special needs Ability to adapt teaching strategies for early childhood education settings or preschool environments; experience in Toddler care or Montessori methods is a plus Skills in collaborating with speech-language pathologists to support language development Experience integrating physical education activities into the curriculum to promote holistic development and collaborating with the physical therapist on this Demonstrated ability to mentor colleagues, provide instructional coaching, or participate in teacher collaboration initiatives Join us in creating an inspiring educational environment where every child is empowered to reach their God-given potential and purpose!
Requirements:
  • Certified teacher in the state of KY
  • Born again Christian, has a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior
  • Experience in special education is preferable
  • Experience using visual supports and AAC devices a plus
Pay:
$35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
