Special Education Teacher in Arcadia, LA

Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Arcadia. Working on-site and based out of a local high school, you'll play a vital role in guiding PreK and Kindergarten students, ensuring they receive the support and tailored instruction they need to thrive. This part-time position offers around 4 hours per day, 4 days a week, with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in early childhood education throughout the academic year.
Qualifications:
Active Louisiana SPED Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate (required) Demonstrated expertise with special education regulations, procedures, and individualized education programs (IEPs) Familiarity with PreK/Kindergarten curriculum, lesson planning, and instructional strategies Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills Dedication to fostering inclusive classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans for early childhood students in PreK and Kindergarten Provide direct instruction, support, and interventions tailored to each child's needs Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student progress Maintain and organize special education documentation and comply with regulatory requirements Foster a compassionate, supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes student growth and well-being
