Special Education Teacher in Arcadia, LA

Job Description

Make a direct impact in the lives of young learners by supporting students with special needs in a collaborative school environment. This part-time, on-site role is ideal for a Special Education Teacher passionate about working with PreK and Kindergarten students and who has a thorough knowledge of special education procedures and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate for Louisiana Experience working in school-based settings with early childhood populations, particularly PreK/Kindergarten Strong grasp of IEP development and implementation, including progress monitoring and compliance Familiarity with diverse learning needs and appropriate instructional strategies Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted instruction for special education students in accordance with IEP goals and state regulations Develop and modify curriculum and resources to support early learners with unique needs Participate actively in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation related to student performance, compliance, and communication Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere for all learners This opportunity offers a flexible schedule—working approximately 4 hours each day, 4 days per week—allowing for strong work-life balance while making a meaningful contribution in a close-knit school community.
