Job Description

Step confidently into an important role supporting student success as a Paraprofessional/VOCO Facilitator in a dynamic educational setting near Kenner, LA. This contract opportunity spans the academic year from August 3, 2026, to May 27, 2027, offering full-time hours (35 per week) in a supportive environment where your skills and initiative directly impact student learning. Youll play a central part as a facilitator, partnering with virtual school psychologists or speech-language pathologists and helping students thrive throughout their school journey.
Key qualifications:
Associates Degree, ParaPro assessment score of at least 450, or a minimum of 48 completed semester credit hours (required by district policy) Previous experience working in a Special Education (SPED) classroom is essential Commitment to completing district-required drug screening and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing Willingness to work across multiple school sites (assignment details to be determined) Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills Primary responsibilities: Provide on-site facilitation and support for virtual intervention sessions led by school psychologists or SLPs Maintain a positive, encouraging environment for students during their sessions Collaborate closely with teachers, district staff, and virtual providers to meet every students needs Assist with classroom management, reinforcement of lesson plans, and record keeping as directed Benefits include a predictable schedule aligned with the academic calendar, the chance to develop hands-on experience in a school-based setting, and the fulfillment of helping students reach their goals.
