Desired Qualifications:
Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required Special Education (SPED) Educator Certificate preferred; candidates with an Elementary 1-5 Certificate will also be considered Previous experience teaching, especially in special education settings, is a plus Skillful in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies for diverse learners Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities Flexible and comfortable with varying classroom environments
Primary Duties:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Deliver tailored instruction to students with special needs within an elementary school setting Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, and other professionals Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and support staff Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where each child can thrive This contract role is full-time (35 hours per week) throughout the academic year, offering a meaningful professional experience working with students who benefit most from your care and expertise.
