Key Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) required State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is mandatory Experience or interest in working 1:1 with pediatric students is highly valued Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with educational teams and families Flexibility and commitment to engaging students who are visually impaired in a school setting
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and support to a visually impaired student in accordance with IEP goals Create and adapt educational materials for accessibility, ensuring meaningful participation in classroom activities Work closely with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to IEP meetings and student assessments Implement assistive technology and adaptive devices to facilitate access to the curriculum Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
