Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference in young lives as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time role is based onsite at an elementary school and runs the length of the academic year from early August through late May. You'll work an engaging 35-hour week with the chance to positively impact students of varying needs and abilities.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education Educator Certificate for Louisiana Dedication to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments Adaptability with diverse student populations and classroom settings Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families Experience working in school settings preferred, but all skilled special educators are encouraged to apply
Core Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction tailored to individual learning plans Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student Foster a classroom culture of encouragement, respect, and growth Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to optimize student outcomes Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and school-wide initiatives Document and report student progress in accordance with legal and school requirements
