What Youll Bring:
Valid Louisiana Special Education (SPED) teaching license Previous experience with diverse special education populations, including early childhood, elementary, or resource/inclusion settings Commitment to fostering inclusive, nurturing, and engaging classroom environments Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with families, support staff, and administration Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate a wide range of learning needs Comfort participating in virtual interviews and engaging with colleagues remotely when needed
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction in one or more assigned settings: Grade 3 Inclusion Ages 3-5 Self-contained classroom Grades 4-6 Self-contained classroom Possible Grade 2 Resource support Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with an experienced team Assess student progress regularly, updating records and adjusting supports as necessary Collaborate with paraprofessionals or related support staff when provided Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed This flexible, extended contract provides the chance to grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to the school community.
