As a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you will play an essential role in facilitating access to education, empowering students to thrive both academically and socially.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Demonstrated experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels Proficient in ASL (American Sign Language); ability to adapt communication styles to individual student needs Familiarity with educational technology and assistive devices for hearing impairments Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with students, parents, teachers, and support staff Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs Deliver direct instruction, support classroom integration, and modify curriculum materials as required Advocate for accessible learning experiences and accommodations within general education settings Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive student support Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate documentation Serve as a resource for staff and families, providing guidance on strategies and best practices
