Anticipated - Beverly High School is looking for a special education teacher for our substantially separate program for students with moderate disabilities who require individualized instruction across all academic areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Director of Learning Provide direct instruction for students. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences and learning styles. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, and materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of learning styles and needs of students assigned. Manage student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment and in compliance with district and state guidelines. Work collaboratively with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements. Provide timely and appropriate plans for substitutes as necessary. Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning through formal and informal testing. Persistent belief in the potential for all students to succeed academically with an asset-based mindset Ability to communicate respectfully and in a culturally proficient manner with parents/guardians about student progress and language acquisition Ability to analyze and utilize student data to develop and/or co-create curriculum and instruction that meets the needs of diverse learners. Compensation is set in accordance with the Beverly Teachers Association Unit A collective bargaining agreement and is commensurate with experience and education.
