Qualifications:
Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with students with visual impairments in an educational setting Familiarity with braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) Adaptability and resourcefulness in dynamic classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments across a range of grade levels Collaborate with general and special education teachers to modify curriculum and materials for accessibility Develop and deliver individualized instruction using braille, large print, and assistive technology Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals and progress monitoring Advocate for students needs, ensuring their inclusion and success in classroom activities Train and support staff and families regarding visual impairment best practices This contract position offers a chance to make a real difference in the lives of students, working closely with a dedicated school team in an inclusive and supportive environment.
