Immediately Job Description Special Education High School Classroom Teacher, STEM Teacher Seaport Academy is a small, private school for boys. We provide a collaborative learning environment to students in grades 8-12. We seek a qualified Special Education Teacher with MA Moderate Disabilities (5-12) Licensure. The classroom teacher will lead Science classes and also teach a range of electives and learning institutes: week-long, project-based classes. STEM Teachers develop and implement curriculum in a therapeutic/educational setting designed to meet the academic, social, personal, and therapeutic needs, aligned with the Mass Curriculum Frameworks, for students with emotional and learning challenges between the ages of 12-22. Seaport Academy teachers are 10 month employees in our 180 day program. This position reports to the Ed Coordinator 90 probation period for new hires
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver instruction for academic classes, electives, and institutes based on the goals of students' IEPs Report on student progress and student grades each term in a timely fashion Participate in daily staff meetings and weekly teacher meetings Create a collaborative classroom Participate in Open House events (2 per year)
