Job Details Under the guidance of Professor Kristian Helin , we are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Training Fellow to lead projects exploring either the mechanistic basis of epigenetic regulation in gene expression and cell fate, or the role of these processes in blood cancers — or both. The fellow will become part of a close-knit, collaborative team that values rigorous scientific debate and thrives at the cutting edge of the field. About you The successful candidate must have: PhD in biology or other similar subject Experience in molecular biology techniques (recombinant DNA, cloning) Experience in cell biology techniques of mammalian cells (tissue culture, transfection methods, microscopy) Experience in biochemistry (protein purifications, protein-protein interaction analysis, protein-DNA interaction analysis) Basic experience in computational biology (R or Python) and bioinformatics Candidates who are nearing completion of their PhD may apply, but confirmation on awarded PhD is required within 6 months of employment. The ICR has a workforce agreement stating that Postdoctoral Training Fellows can only be employed for up to 7 years as PDTF at the ICR, providing total postdoctoral experience (including previous employment at this level elsewhere) does not exceed 7 years. Epigenetics and Cancer Group, Division of Cell and Molecular Biology (Chelsea, London) Professor Kristian Helin's group investigates fundamental mechanisms that govern biological processes and explores how their disruption contributes to cancer. The ultimate goal is to translate this research into new therapeutic strategies for cancer patients, while advancing our understanding of transcription, stem cell identity, and cellular differentiation. The Helin group is embedded within the Cell and Molecular Biology Division at the ICR's Chester Beatty Laboratories in Chelsea, London. We have a highly supportive and interactive research environment, and state of the art facilities for cell biology, molecular biology, next-generation sequencing, structural biology and mouse genetics. The great variety of disciplines at the ICR will ensure that you will be exposed to fantastic research and seminars from all types of backgrounds.
