Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. Duties Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and other special needs Design engaging lesson plans incorporating curriculum development, instructional modifications, and educational technology integration to enhance learning outcomes Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and behavioral therapy techniques Collaborate closely with speech therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other specialists to support comprehensive student development Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to evaluate progress and inform instruction Communicate regularly with parents and guardians through parent-teacher meetings, progress reports, and digital communication platforms to foster strong partnerships Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavior management strategies, and legal compliance related to special education law Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Elementary Education with a focus on special needs, or related field; Master's degree preferred Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials in your region Proven classroom experience working with students with disabilities in elementary or preschool settings Knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention techniques, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and the use of educational technology Experience implementing behavioral health strategies and behavioral therapy methods for students with developmental disabilities Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external specialists Familiarity with IEP processes, special education law, instructional modifications, and standardized testing procedures Ability to manage classroom behavior proactively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports all learners #NEBK Join us in creating an empowering educational experience where every child is valued!
