Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Experience working with students in K-12 settings preferred Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and accessibility tools Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional plans Collaborative approach, excellent communication, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, both one-on-one and in small groups Assess student needs and adapt curriculum materials for maximum accessibility Consult with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to support student learning Advise on assistive technology and resources to promote independence Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings Maintain up-to-date records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
