Job Description
The Harvard Public Schools welcomes applications for a Long-Term Special Education Teacher at Hildreth Elementary School from November 2026 through May 2027.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and communicate clear learning objectives
- Develop age-appropriate instructional strategies to achieve the curriculum goals
- Assess and evaluate student's performance on a regular basis
- Set and maintain acceptable standards of classroom behavior to establish an orderly learning environment
- IEP development, review, and data collection
- Within mainstream or in a pullout setting, provide teamed, small group or individualized instruction and/or academic support according to the general and specific goals outlined in students' individualized educational plans
- Collaborate with service providers as indicated in student education plans
- Oversee the assignment of Learning Assistants, if indicated by Principal or Special Education Administrator
- Provide small group or individual instruction to special needs pupils as prescribed in their educational plans
- Modify and adapt the curricula, materials, and physical environment to meet the needs of individual students
- Co-teaching experience preferred
