Job Description

Empower students' academic journeys by leveraging your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a collaborative school setting near coastal Massachusetts. This contract opportunity provides a rewarding environment for professionals dedicated to making a meaningful impact on students lives.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification for the visually impaired Prior experience working with blind or low-vision students in educational settings Proficiency in Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive curriculum resources Strong ability to collaborate with general education staff, special education teams, and families Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills Flexibility and a solutions-focused approach to supporting diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, tailoring lesson plans to each students strengths and needs Assess students functional vision and learning environments, making data-informed recommendations for accommodations Facilitate access to instructional materials in accessible formats, such as Braille, large print, and digital resources Coach school staff and families on specialized strategies and equipment Advocate for students success in both academic and extracurricular settings Maintain accurate records and participate actively in IEP development and meetings This role offers the chance to work alongside dedicated educators and support staff in a welcoming, inclusive school community.
