9684582-01040 Job Description Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with hearing loss as a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing on a contract basis. In this role, you'll work within school settings to create inclusive educational experiences, helping students thrive academically and socially. Ideal candidates will bring experience and a passion for advocacy, collaborating with educators and families to develop strategies tailored to each learner's needs. Youll provide both direct instruction and consultation, ensuring every student is set up for success.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Previous experience working in educational environments supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing Strong understanding of various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), auditory/oral approaches, and total communication Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting lessons to accommodate individualized education programs (IEPs) Assess student progress, monitor outcomes, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly Offer consultative support to general education teachers and staff to promote accessible learning environments Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing educational planning As a valued provider, youll enjoy working alongside passionate professionals and making an immediate difference in the lives of students.
