The Middle School Inclusion/Co-Teacher works alongside general education content teachers to deliver engaging, grade-level instruction to diverse learners in an inclusive classroom setting. This educator designs and applies necessary accommodations, modifications, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies to ensure students with IEPs and varied academic needs thrive socially and academically. Utilizing evidence-based co-teaching models, they facilitate targeted small-group support, monitor IEP progress, and analyze performance data to close achievement gaps. Additionally, the role fosters a welcoming classroom culture that supports middle schoolers' unique social-emotional growth while maintaining active communication with families, specialists, and IEP teams. Understanding of special education process and procedure including but not limited to IEP development, progress monitoring, data collection, and the facilitation of the IEP with families.
