Job Description

Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification in Special Education (state-specific credentials required) Previous experience working in special education or with students who have diverse learning needs Strong understanding of IEP processes, accommodations, and progress monitoring Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies to meet individual student goals Organizational skills to manage case files, track student progress, and maintain timely documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations Provide direct instruction to students using evidence-based strategies tailored to individual needs Assess and report on student learning progress, adjusting instruction as needed Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support personnel to ensure full inclusion and support for all students Communicate frequently with families regarding student goals, progress, and strategies for success Foster a positive, encouraging classroom environment that nurtures student confidence and independence Participate in meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing team planning
