Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students' growth and achievement as a Special Education Teacher for grades 3-5. This full-time contract opportunity begins August 31st and continues through June 23rd, at an intermediate school located near Siasconset, MA. Collaborate with a dedicated educational team to deliver impactful instruction and individualized support to students in special education programs.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

Current certification as a Special Education Teacher for grades 3-5 Experience working with elementary and intermediate school-aged students in a special education setting Familiarity with a range of disabilities and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with colleagues, students, and families Certification in Orton-Gillingham is highly preferred and will be a valued asset

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide differentiated instruction to students with special needs in accordance with IEP goals Adapt classroom materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles Assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school counselors, and related service providers Engage with parents and caregivers, ensuring ongoing communication and team support Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence
