Qualifications & Requirements:
Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification in Massachusetts Strong understanding of child development and diverse learning styles Experience or familiarity using assistive technology, American Sign Language (ASL), and instructional adaptations for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing population Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills Previous experience in a school-based setting with K-12 students preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in K-12 classrooms Modify curriculum and integrate communication strategies to ensure equal access to learning Participate in IEP meetings, student assessments, and progress reporting Consult with staff to support accommodations and effective teaching strategies in inclusive classrooms Work closely with families to promote student success both at school and at home Advocate for student needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Enjoy a supportive contract role with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
