Job Summary Successful candidates will bring a depth of experience working with toddlers and a strong understanding of early childhood development, particularly the social-emotional, language, cognitive, and physical development of two-year-old children. Candidates must create developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences that support language development, early literacy and numeracy, social-emotional growth, sensory exploration, creative expression, and gross and fine motor development, as well as have a deep appreciation for the unique developmental stages of two-year-old children and the ability to support emerging independence, curiosity, and self-regulation. Collaboration with teaching partners, colleagues, and families is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, as is knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices, play-based learning, language acquisition, early social-emotional development, and positive behavior guidance. Candidates must be committed to developing cultural competence in teaching and working effectively in diverse environments. This includes differentiating instruction, collaborating effectively with colleagues and families, and demonstrating strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Overall curriculum planning with the Assistant Head of School
• Planning and facilitating engaging daily routines and play-based learning experiences that support all areas of toddler development.
• Monitoring student progress: ○ Observations ○ Work Sampling/Documentation ○ Parent/Guardian Conferences ○ Family communication
• Supporting children's self-help skills, including toileting, handwashing, dressing, and mealtimes.
• Maintaining consistent classroom routines that promote security and independence.
• Supporting children during transitions, rest time, and daily care routines
• Engaging in outdoor play and supervision
• Attending faculty meetings and participating in designated committee(s) Desired Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a school-based setting
• Independent school experience preferred Experience implementing play-based or inquiry-based curriculum
• Knowledge of toddler development and assessment
• Positive behavior guidance
• Experience with developmental observation and documentation Compensation Range $40,000-$45,000 Physical Requirements This position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, sitting, and climbing stairs whenever necessary.

Activities also include moderate physical exertion in body movement, such as reaching, bending, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling of objects. This position requires lifting objects of 20 pounds on a frequent basis, and over 20 pounds occasionally. There is a frequent requirement of fine manipulation associated with the required use of a computer and other business machines.
