Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Williamstown, MA, supporting young learners in substantially separate classrooms. This role focuses on providing tailored instruction and care to students in Kindergarten through 5th grade with significant cognitive and physical disabilities. The setting is onsite, fostering a supportive and structured learning environment for children who require specialized attention.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specially designed instruction to students with severe disabilities. Support students with diverse needs, including those on the autism spectrum and non-verbal learners. Assist with toileting and personal care as needed. Collaborate with Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to implement applied behavior analysis strategies. Manage classrooms for K-1 and 3rd-5th grade substantially separate programs. Maintain detailed records of student progress and participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings.Qualifications:
Experience working in special education, preferably with severely disabled students. Skilled in specially designed instruction and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Comfort and competence in providing toileting support. Ability to work effectively onsite in a school environment. Strong communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.Location:
